The International symposium on regional carbon cycle and the 11th USCCC annual meeting, hosted by the carbon alliance (USCCC) of China and the United States and the China flux network (ChinaFLUX) and organized by the Cold and Arid Regions Environmental and Engineering Research Institute, was successfully held in Lanzhou during 7-11 July 2014. About 100 candidates from Italy, the United States, Canada and nearly 20 Chinese representatives attended the meeting.
During the meeting, five famous international experts were invited to give training course on flux observation data processing and analysis. About 20 scholars and students reported their recent progresses on regional carbon cycle studies.
Dr. Jinfeng Xiao from the University of New Hampshire and Dr. Mingguo Ma from the Cold and Arid Regions Environmental and Engineering Research Institute were selected as the new China and the US presidency of USCCC. The next annual meeting of USCCC will be held in Shanghai.
