Scientific data center of Cold and Arid regions was launched on 6 August 2014. Prof. Ma Wei,the director of the Cold and Arid Regions Environmental and Engineering Research Institute, introduced the construction of the data center.He pointed out the improtance role of the large amount of data collected over the past tens of years in scientific innovation activities. Prof.Feng Qi, the vice-director of the Cold and Arid Regions Environmental and Engineering Research institute and the chief of the data center, Prof. Zhang Yaonan, the vice-chief of the data center, Dr. Wu Lizhong and Wang Liangxu presented their resent research progress on a number of topics using these data.
Academicians of Chinese Academy of Science, Profs.Cheng Guodong, Qin Dahe, ShiYaolin and Lai Yuanming attended the opening ceremony.
